Did you know that it is totally natural to perspire from our underarms? We've been conditioned to believe that we need conventional deodorants with anti-perspirants to, "control" our natural human functioning. The chemicals added to these products are toxic and should be released often. Not to mention, the extreme build up after years of using anti-perspirant has been proven to cause an overproduction of bad bacteria.
I stopped using traditional deodorants a couple years ago. I can't lie and say this has been an easy process. There were times where I was stuck smelling like an old onion, and apologizing to the people around me.
After discovering this detox and starting fresh with the Earth Deo; I am happy to say I haven't had anymore embarrassing - stinky situations. In my experience, this detox is extremely effective when implemented weekly, or bi-weekly.
To start you will need - Raw, organic Apple cider Vinegar, Bentonite clay, a bowl and something to mix and apply the formula. Make sure the bowl you use is not metal. Because bentonite clay absorbs toxins and heavy metals; it loses its efficacy when placed in metal. Glass, tin or bamboo are always great options for storage. Apple cider vinegar helps to unclog the pores and rebalance the ph of the desired area. When mixed with bentonite clay, it creates the ultimate cleansing agent for this congested area.
Add one teaspoon of the bentonite clay to your bowl. Then slowly pour one and a half teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and mix slowly. It should look similar to the consistency of fluffy pudding.
Apply a thin layer of the mix to clean underarms, and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. You can remove it in the shower, or with a wet towel.
A Few Tips
- Make sure once your underarms are free of toxins that you are using a toxic-free deodorant like the Earth Deo. Post detox should be the perfect time to wean yourself off of commercial deodorants.
- Try drinking Chlorophyll daily. Chlorophyll is the green pigment in plants, and acts as a natural body deodorizer. You can also incorporate lots of green veggies daily.
- Minimize your intake of animal based foods and spicy foods. Spicy foods tend to make me perspire more than usual. Meats take longer time to digest, your body has to work harder to process it. This may cause increased perspiration and body odor.
